Sleek Face Contour Kit in 'Light' Review and Swatch

Hello everyone!

For those of you who are new to Sleek, Sleek is a UK brand known for great quality products at affordable prices. They are most famous for their eyeshadow palettes and blushes. For us Irish girls, Sleek is unavailable to us in drugstores, but we can get our hands on Sleek goodies from www.cloud10beauty.com.
I got my Face contour Kit on this website for €10. Standard shipping to Ireland costs only €3 and I received my last order within 3 days, not bad eh? Alternatively you can purchase Sleek from Superdrug in the UK or from the Sleek website

Okay, let's get on to the review shall we??

 What Sleek say :
The "Face Contour Kit combines a dark matte pressed powder and an illuminating highlighter, in a handbag-friendly mirrored palette. Contour Kit works to sculpt your features and has amazing slimming effects".

What I say:
This product does exactly what it says on the tin. I chose the Light shade because of my typical Irish pale skin! When I first saw this product, I was surprised at how small it was in size as it seems much bigger on the website. However, a little really does go a long way with this product and I can't imagine using up this product any time soon. I was also surprised at how dark the contour colour was, but it's the perfect shade once it is applied and blended onto the skin.

This contour/highlighter duo contains a matte brown contour colour (which can be often difficult to find) and a shimmery champagne highlight. The highlight colour gives a subtle brightness to the face and is not over the top with chunky glitter like some highlighters. Both colours are incredibly pigmented and blend easily. The contour colour can be buildable for a more Kim Kardashian-like sculpted face. The packaging is very Sleek and sturdy. This slim compact has a big mirror and is perfect for travel.

Where do I apply it?

I apply the contour shade just under my cheekbones, on my jaw line, temples and occasionally down the sides of my nose for extra dimension. I wear the highlight shade to the top of my cheekbones and on my cupids bow (to give the illusion of a bigger pout!).
The Face Contour Kit is a multifunctional product as the contour shade can be applied in the crease of the eye for extra definition while the highlighter can be used under the arch of the brows and in the inner corners of the eyes.

  • Budget friendly
  • Great pigmentation
  • Easy to blend
  • Travel Friendly
  • Long lasting
  • Not too much shimmer in the highlight
  • Big mirror
  • 2 in 1 product
  • Easily buildable
  • Does not look patchy
  • Matte bronzer
  • Multipurpose

  • Contour powder might be too dark for very pale skin tones
  • Availability - in some countries it can be difficult to get your hands on this product

The bottom line...

I absolutely LOVE this product. I use it every single day. Honestly, it was difficult for me to think of any cons for this product! I love how it defines my features flawlessly and gives slimming effects to the face. Before using this product, I had not realised how much contouring and highlighting can transform the face! I would recommend this to everyone!

My Rating: 5/5

Outfit and Face of the Night #1

Hey Everyone!
My OOTN was from the Ooh La La Irish Blog awards. My friend Sarah from The Yellow Sunflower and I attended the event this week! So here is what I wore...

Outfit Details

I got my dress from Lipsy months ago. I was waiting for the perfect event to wear it. I love the elegant floral detail and the skirt is so pretty! I got my shoes from Pennys believe it or not. They are cream with gold undertones. These shoes go with so many outfits, I'm definitely getting value for my money with these shoes. My bracelet is from New Look and the tan I'm wearing is my trusted Cocoa Brown tan. I left this tan to develop for 3 hours to get a deep tan glow. I curled my hair with my GHD. This is my usual hair style for a night out.

As for my makeup for the night I decided to go for a quite sculpted and contoured face. I used cream products for contouring. I find that cream contouring can last longer and gives full coverage for a night out. I wore a neutral look on my eyes but I darkened up my eyes a little with black eyeliner. I thought a pale pink lip would be best suited to this look as I didn't want to draw attention away from my dress.

MUA Haul

Hello everyone! I'm really excited to show you all my recent Make Up Academy Haul! Before this haul, I did not own any other MUA products so I was very interested in trying the brand out for myself. I have heard great things about this brand and that they produce great quality makeup for budget prices! I bought all this from superdrug.
So here is what I got...

Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow Palette
This palette with 12 shades was only £4! I wear neutral shades almost everyday and I'm looking forward to comparing this to my Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 palettes. The shades are all pearl shades so I was a little disappointed that there were no matte shades in the palette, but hey, for £4 I can't really complain!

Single Eyeshadows
I got the shades 9, 30 and 2. (from top to bottom). They are all pearl shades and have 2g of product which is quite decent considering MAC single eyeshadows have only 1.5g. Each eyeshadow cost £1.

Pressed Powder
I decided to try two shades of the pressed powder. I'll use shade 1 when I'm pale and shade 3 when I'm wearing fake tan. These two products were £2 each.

These £1 lipsticks have been on my wishlist for a long time. I choose shades 14, 11 and 3. I love these lipsticks. There are 14 shades in the range, and I think next time I am in Superdrug, I'll buy the whole range. £14 pounds for 14 lipsticks? I don't think it could get any better than that!

Intense Kisses Lipgloss
I have this lipgloss in the colour 'Lips are Sealed'. I was attracted to this lipgloss because of the bright colour.I think it's so pretty and feminine. I bought this lipgloss for £2!

Well there's my haul for you! Hope you liked it!

July Favourites

Hey guys! I can't believe July has come and gone already! How time flies...
Here are the products which I couldn't get enough of during the month of July:

Barry M Nail Paint Shade 351 Yellow Topaz Glitter
I love this nail polish because it's so versatile. This is a glitter polish with various sizes of gold glitter. This polish has a very dense texture and gives an even distribution of sparkle. It's great for  sweeping over your nails for a scattered glitter effect or building it up for a heavier application. This month I have been mainly wearing it over a coral shade and I have gotten many compliments on my nails. This product looks amazing over almost any shade of nail polish.

Sleek Contour Kit in Light
I purchased this product a few months ago and I can't get enough of it! This is probably my favourite product of the month. I have this product in the shade light. However the contour shade is quite dark for a 'light' shade. This gives a more defined contour look which I have been wearing almost everyday. I wear the bronzer shade under my cheek bones and the highlighter shade on top of my cheek bones and it defines my features flawlessly. I can't recommend this product enough, as only after trying this product did I realise how much contouring can change the face!

Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NW20
This has been the third time I have purchased this product. It's well worth the money because I think its the best concealer on the market. A little really does go a long way as this teeny tiny container will last me 1.5 to 2 years before it ruins out! Its a great all round concealer which I use in the inner corners of my eyes to cover dark circles and the coverage is thick enough to cover any blemishes. Try it!

Real Techniques Contour Brush
I recently received the Real Techniques Core Collection as a birthday gift from my boyfriend this month (I may have given him a few birthday present hints!) My favourite brush from the collection is the contour brush. This brush teamed with the Sleek contour kit, gives the most perfect sculpted face. The brush is extremely soft and is the perfect shape for creating a precise contour line under the cheekbone.

Benefit Laugh with me Lee Lee
I have been wearing this perfume more during the summer months. To me, it works best in the spring and summer. I love the packaging, it's so gorgeous and playful. It has a truly unique scent which Benefit describes as "flirty and feminine woody floral". It has a very strong scent when first sprayed but it then becomes more subtle with long lasting power.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
I have heard so many good reviews about this foundation so I couldn't resist trying it out for myself! After trying this foundation, I fell in love.  This month it has been my everyday foundation. I have shades 51 and 52. I have been using shade 52 this month as I am slightly more tanned than normal. The name says it all, it makes my skin look healthy and glowing. I love the smell,  the medium but buildable coverage and it doesn't leave me too oily. It has a light-weight feel on the face and gives an amazing fresh finish. Most importantly I love that it's still actually on my face at the end of the day!!

Carmex Mint
July has been an incredibly warm month in Ireland and I noticed my lips suffering as a result of the warm weather. I have previously used the original Carmex but I came across the mint flavour so I HAD to buy it. I love anything with a mint flavour! Carmex have other fruity flavoured lip balms but they wouldn't appeal to me. I bring this everywhere with me and I apply it before bed and my lips are so soft in the morning. It gives a nice fresh tingling feeling and it's soo nourishing. I'm addicted to strong mint smell. It has a SPF 15 which is also a bonus!

Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Belini
I love this milky, light peach lip gloss. It's not sticky and the staying power is quite decent for a drugstore lipgloss. I like to wear this over a light coral lipstick or over a nude lipstick to give some colour. This product gives a subtle, natural look. I rarely repurchase the same lipgloss twice but I think I will make an exception with this one!

So that's all for my July favourites!
