Wet n Wild Launch Event!

Hey guys!
Todays post is about the launch of the US brand Wet n Wild that took place in House in Leeson, Dublin this week! The much loved brand will be available in Dunnes Stores nationwide in Ireland very soon. How exciting!!!! This brand is known worldwide for their great quality cosmetics at low prices. Wet n Wild are particularly famous for their eyeshadows, so get your hands on them quick ladies!

I went along to the event with the fabulous Sarah from The Yellow Sunflower. Cupcakes, cocktails, makeup artists and excited bloggers were waiting for us. The cupcakes were from Monaco Cupcakes and they were so amazing. I had to resist eating too many!

The makeup artists were so lovely and friendly and she showed me some makeup looks that could me created using the brand and she could answer any questions about the products. She touched up my makeup with some wet n wild eyeshadows. They will definately be on my wishlist

The venue was House on Leeson Street, Dublin. I absolutly LOVED this place! The staff were so helpful, the interier was amazing and there was such a great atmosphere. The event was in the Greenhouse which looked amazing. I definately want to go back here for a night to show himself.

I was a lucky girl and received a lovely goodie back with a few little products. Watch out for some product reviews coming soon!

There was also a photo booth at the event, so of course myself and Sarah had to test it out. This was my first time in a photo booth and I have to say it was so so much fun! we were in stitches laughing.

Wet n Wild products are so affordable and range from €1.99 to €6.99. So get your hands on them quick ladies!
Keep an eye out for Wet n Wild product reviews coming soon!

NYX Cosmetics Available in Ireland!

I came across a picture on twitter about NYX cosmetics in Clerys in Dublin, so I had to check it out for myself. I have a very long wishlist for NYX  products and I have always been meaning to buy them online. But with the shipping charges being to expensive to Ireland, I was definitely hitting Clerys on O'Connell street!

I walked into the store and I had a little trouble finding the stand. I found out that its part of a brow bar in the store. I was quite disappointed to see only 2 stands like the one shown above. Only NYX eye products are sold here, no face and lip products whatsoever! The main things that I wanted to buy were mostly face and lip products so this was quite a let down for me. Well at least the eye products are a start, right?
Because of this I only purchased a few things:

I already had the NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk from my trip to the States last summer, but I was going to buy another one for a backup. Unfortunately they were sold out of this colour as it is so popular. I picked up another Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet to use with my Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette I got recently (FOTD and Tutorial blog post coming soon). I also got the Glitter Liner which in amazing and so much easier to apply than loose glitter. I needed a big sharpener for the Jumbo pencils because I haven't found one big enough! Lastly I wanted to try out the Nyx Eyeshadow base in White and to compare it to the Jumbo pencils!

So there is my mini, teeny weeny haul for you!
Have any of you tried any other Nyx products?
What do you think of the brand?

Face of the Night #2

Hello my lovely readers!

Todays post is a look I came up with using the products I mentioned in a guest post on Ninas blog,  Ninas Bargain beauty. I was so excited to write my first guest post and it was so much fun to work with Nina! I love Nina's blog because she finds such great bargains online. She has an expansive directory of reviews and her reviews are so honest and informative with great swatch photos. This blog is definately worth checking out.

And now onto the post! I wore this look on a recent night out. I went for a gold smokey eye and a red lip. I love wearing a red lip in winter, it warms the whole look up. Want to try this look out for yourself? Please follow the tutorial guidelines below.

  1. Apply No7 Airbrush Away  primer onto the centre of the face
  2. Apply Match perfection foundation to the face with a Real Techniques Miricle Complexion Sponge. Use dabbing motions.
  3. Apply Mac Studio Finish Concealor to any blemishes.
  4. Use Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealor under the eye and extend up the top of the cheekbones, (do this after applying eyeshadow), down the bridge of the nose, to the centre of the forehead and to the cubids bow. Blend these out with the Real Techniques Sponge.
  5. Add Elf Pressed Powder to set the foundation and concealor.
  6. I used a Real Techniques Contour brush to add Benefit's Hoola bronzer under the cheekbones, down the sides of the nose, at the sides of my forehead and under my jawline.
  7. Apply Sleek's Rose Gold Blush to the cheeks, above the bronzer and not to the apples of the cheeks.

  1. Define the brows with Sleek's Brow Kit.
  2. Apply some Mac Studio Finish Concealor under the brows to create a crisp, clean line.
  3. Add Mac's Soft Ochre Paint pot to the eyelids as a base.
  4. Stick some sticky tape under the eye as a stencil for your eyeshadow.
  5. Sweep Velvet Revolver (a cool toned beige/brown) from the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette into the crease of the eye with a large fluffy brush.
  6. Dab Honey Pot (shimmery gold) to the entire eyelid with your finger. Also add this to the inner, under eye.
  7. Apply Cocoa Puff (dark shimmery brown) to the outer corner of the eye and into the outer V or the crease. Blend this outwards and into the crease.
  8. Darken the crease with Sexpresso (Deep matte brown) with a small precise blending brush.
  9. Apply Heaven (matte cream) as a browbone highlight.
  10. Apply Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner to the upper lashline and create a small wing.
  11. Add Catrice Precision Eye Pencil to the upper and lower waterline.
  12. Add a mixture of Sexpresso (Deep matte brown) and Cocoa Puff (dark shimmery brown) under the eye and smudge the black kohl pencil into the lashline.
  13. Apply Silk Teddy (frosted light pink) to the inner corner.
  14. Add Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and Primark False Eye Lashes.

  1. Apply Rimmel Moisture Renew in 470 Glam Plum Fulham to the lips. First use a lipbrush to define your lips and then apply the lipstick from the tube. Don't forget to suck your thumb so you don't get lipstick on your teeth later!!!

And there you have it! Wow that was a long post!
I hope you enjoyed reading my FOTN. Let me know your thoughts and if you would like to see more posts like this.

My 2013 Hair Product Favourites

Next up in my 2013 Favourites Series is haircare! I have been trying a lot of products this year to manage my think hair and I wanted to find products that would keep my long hair in good condition.
I have made some firm favourites during 2013 and these products are part of my daily and weekly hair routine. Read on for more info!

Best Shampoo and Conditioner

  • Herbal Essences Bee Strong
I use this everyday and I love the smell of honey. Its so refreshing! My favourite youtube guru Chloe Morello mentioned this in a favourites video so I had to get it! Chloe was right, they are great products.

Best Leave in Conditioner

  • Aussie Miricle Hair Insurance
I use this sometimes when I want my hair to be extra soft and I didn't use or didn't have time to use  a hair mask. It's quick and easy for super soft hair.

Best Hair Masks

  • L'oreal Elvive Smooth and Polish
I use a hair mask once a week to keep my hair healthy and silky. The cold winter weather can be harsh on your hair and quite drying. Deep conditioners are a must in very hot or cold weather.
  • Aussie 3 minute Miricle
I'm sure everyone has tried or even heard of this product before. I love the feeling of super soft hair. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair and how healthy it looks. I think it's definately down to using this product.
  • Lush H'suan Wen Hua
I've only had this product a few weeks and I couldn't leave this out of my 2013 Favourites. I have never used some lush conditioners up till now and I have to say that I'm obsessed! You put this in your hair when it's dry, leave for 20 minutes and then wash your hair as normal. Love love love this

Best Hair Oil

  • L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil
I use this every time I wash my hair before I blow dry it. I helps tame flyaways along with keeping my hair nourished. Definatley my Holy Grail hair product

Best Dry Shampoo

  • Batiste Dry Shampoo for Dark and Deep Brown Hair
I use this on second day old hair. If you have oily skin like me, dry shampoos are a must. I like this product because it doesnt leave a grey powdery residue in her hair like other dry shampoos. There is a hint of dark brown in the product to it blends in with your hair nicely!

Best Split End Serum

  • Pantene Split End Serum
My hair is quite long and I stlye it with my ghd/curling tongs quite often so my hair can suffer from split ends. I like to prevent my ends from drying up an this product is perfect for this.

Best Volumiser

  • Bastiste XXL Plumping Powder
I use this at the roots of my hair instead of backcombing. Backcombing can be extremely damaging on your hair so this is a great alternative. Feel free to check out my review on this product.

What have been your favourite hair products of 2013?

My 2013 Skincare Favourites

Hello everyone!
Here are my favourite skincare products from 2013. I have been using these products constantly and I absolutely love them. I used to be very prone to acne in the past so I'm quite conscious of taking care of my skin. As you can see there are 3 brands that I love and they have never failed me!

Best Cleansers

  • Yes to Carrots Daily Cream Facial Cleanser
I use this every morning to wash my face. I gently cleanse my face with warm water and my face feels so soft and thoroughly cleaned.
  •  No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Cleanser
I use this to remove my makeup. It removes everything and is very gentle on my skin.
  • Yes to Carrots Nourishing Makeup Removing Cleanser
I use this cleanser alternating with the one mentioned above. I love this brand and how the products are made.

Best Exfoliator

  • Simple Kind to Skin Smoothing Facial Scrub
I use this product about twice a week to remove any dryness on my face. I like this exfoliator  as its gentle on my skin and not too harsh. It's 'simple'.

Best Toner

  •  No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner
This toner is amazing! I love the packaging and it's the best toner I've ever tried!

Best Eye Makeup Remover

  • No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Makeup Remover
This removes everything on my eyes. I put some of the product on a cotton pad, rest it on my eyes for 30 seconds and boom, eye makeup removed. I never thought it could be so easy!

Best Eye Cream

  • Yes to Carrots Eye Contour Cream
I'm very conscious of the area around my eyes and anti ageing. I want to prevent those fine lines before I get them rather than using eye cream when I get them!  This eye cream is super moisturising and the container is huge! This will last you forever so it's well worth it!

Best Moisturiser
  • Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating light Moisturiser
I have oily skin but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't moisturise. I've tried other daily moisturisers and I've broken out with them. But the Simple one is very light and give me the moisture I need.
  • No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream for Oily/Combination SkinThe same applies here as above. There are not many night creams for oily skin on the market but I've found this one and it works for me. I have gone and repurchased this one again and I love it!

Best Face Mask

  • Yes to Cucumbers Calm Care Soothing Facial Mask
I can't believe I almost forgot about this product! I would use this quite regularly and it removes any impurities from my face. My new years resolution is so use this once a week as part of my skin routine.

So there you have my most loved skincare products of 2013!
Have you tried any of these products?
Let me know in the comments below, I love hearing from you!

My New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a great 2013 and an even better 2014!
As the end of each year draws to a close, I find myself slipping into some bad habits. It's good to have a fresh start for the new year and make some resolutions!
So here are mine!

  1. Getting more sleep. I've gotten into the habit of staying up late and getting up late too. It's taken its toll on me, and everyone needs their beauty sleep right?
  2. Eat clean, train mean. I want to eat healthy foods and cut out a lot of the junk food and sweets
  3. Workout more because at the moment I don't work out at all, so anything would be an improvement! I'm aiming to make workouts part of my routine.
  4. Stop wasting time. I'm am constantly wasting time and procrastinating so I have to make use of my time and use it well!
  5. This resolution, is one that remains the same every year. Stop biting my nails. It's a habit I've had since I was a child and this year I MUST stop! I hope to post updates on this, so hopefully I'll stick to it this year!
  6. Expand my blog! I know I'm only new to this whole blogging thing, but everyone has got to start somewhere right? I hope to blog as much as I can and let it develop as much as possible!

I have a few beauty resolutions for 2014:

  1. Wash my brushes every week!I have gotten so lazy doing this the past while and I know how important this is.
  2. I will use a face mask every week. I should take better care of my skin and take the time to look after it, and relax at the same time!
  3. Wear SPF everyday, even if it's cloudy or raining outside!
  4. Only buy makeup products that I will actually use! I must look up reviews on more products and find out if the product will actually suit me. I have bought so many things on a whim and I don't use them!

What are your resolutions?
Till next time,
