Best of Beauty: Makeup Must Haves

Hello guys!

As you may have seen from my previous post, I'm taking part in Samantha's Best in Beauty Blog Challenge! Samantha from All the Buzz has organised an 8 week challenge for us Irish Bloggers. She emails us each week about a chosen topic and we put our posts at 7pm each Thursday. You can follow this challenge onTwitter by searching #BOBBlogChallenge

This week my post is about my Makeup Must Haves. I have been using these products every single day and they are my absolute favourites of all time!

Sleek Contour Kit in Light

If I could only pick one product to bring with me on a desert island, this would be it! This is definately my Holy Grail makeup product and I think Everyone should have this. I've done a full blog post review on this Sleek Contour Kit. This is available in Ireland from Cloud10Beauty website for only €7.99 or directly from Sleek's website. This is a complete bargain for a product of such quality.

Rimmel Stay Matte Tranlucent Powder

For all you ladies out there with oily skin like me, you're going to love this. I bought this after I heard Tanya Burr rave about this powder. This product keeps my shine at bay along with giving my face a flawless finish. I love the smell of it too. I definately was not disappointed with this and only €5.99 from Boots you can't go wrong!

Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre

This is a staple product from MacCosmetics. It's main function is as an eyeshadow base. But I also use it on a day to day basis on it's own. This neutralises the redness on my eyelids and gives my eyelids a smooth and even finish while also controling any creasing on my eyes. It's a little more pricey at around the €20 mark but a little really goes a long way with this product. I can see this product lasting me a year at least. Well worth it guys!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

I use this brush everyday to apply my foundation. I'm sure you are all aware that these brushes were designed my the famous makeup artist and successful youtube guru Sam Chapman. This brush is perfect for applying liquid foundation because the brush is made from synthetic hair which doesn't absorb the products easily as natural hair. The brush is dense and makes it so easy to get that flawless base that we all want. This is available in Ireland from Boots and Cloud10beauty.

Sleek Brow Kit in Dark

So many people always ask me what product I use to define my eyebrows. And now you finally know my secret! I bought this thinking that it could be similar to Benefit's Brow Zings. I have to say that I was so impressed with Sleek's Brow Kit, I don't think I'll even try another brow kit. I use this product everyday and I would feel incomplete without it. Like the Contour Kit, this is available from Cloud10 Beauty and Sleek's website. Would any of you like to see a tutorial on how I use this product? Let me know in the comments below.

So there you have my Makeup Must Haves. I would love to know some of yours too, any recommendations please let me know in the comments below.

Next weeks post will be: Best of Beauty Pamper Products so don't forget to stay tuned!

Best of Beauty 'Hair Heros'

Hello Everyone!

This week is the 2nd week and we are blogging about our Hair Heros. All the products that keep out lovely locks in tip top condition! These are my Holy Grail products and I have been repurchasing them ever and over again.  I  just can't live without them

Lush H'suan Wen Hua

I've mentioned this product before in my 2013 Favourites. I have to say that I have never some across a product like this before. You put this in your hair when it's dry, leave for 20 minutes and then wash your hair as normal. My hair feel super super soft and nourised. Love this product!

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil

This product is definately Holy Grail hair product. I have never used hair oils in the past but after trying this, I will never look back. This makes such a difference to the texture and shine in your hair. I use this every time I wash my hair before I blow dry it. I helps tame flyaways along with keeping my hair nourished.

Aussie 3 minute Miricle

As I'm sure you could tell, I'm a huge fan of deep conditioners. I use one once a week without fail. I love the feeling of super soft hair. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair and how healthy it looks. I think it's definately down to using this product.

Batiste XXL Plumping Powder

I love dry shampoos to give your hair that extra fresh look. I decided to check out a new product from Batiste's  range . I use this at the roots of my hair instead of backcombing. Backcombing can be extremely damaging on your hair so this is a great alternative.  Feel free to check out my review on this product.

Don't forget to check out next week's post which will be 'Makeup Must Haves'!
Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? What are your thoughts?

Best of Beauty: Skin Care Saviours

Hello Everyone!

I'm so excited to take part of Samantha's Best in Beauty Blog Challenge! Samantha from All the Buzz has organised an 8 week challenge for us Irish Bloggers. She emails us each week about a chosen topic and we put our posts at 7pm each Thursday. (I know I'm a little late on my first post, but better late than never!) You can follow this challenge on Twitter by searching #BOBBlogChallenge. Okay so now onto the first post in the series

This week we are blogging about our skincare saviours that we can't live without. Skin care is extremely important. Taking care of our skin allows us to look healthier, fresh and can help with anti ageing. Here are some of the products that I use on a regular basis and that I love and can't live without

1) Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I discovered this only a few weeks ago and I can't believe I lived without this cleansing water! I'm sure you have all heard about Bioderma Micellar cleansing water? I've wanted to try this but I picked up the Garnier one as an alternative. This Cleansing water is a 3 in 1 product. It removes makeup so effortlessly (even eye makeup), it cleanses and soothes the skin. It's my eyemakeup remover, cleanser and toner in one. I know I'll definately be repurchasing this. Seriously Ladies (and guys), try it!

2) Vichy Thermal Spa Water

I love this product for those no makeup days and you need to refresh your skin. This is so soothing, fortifying and is rich in rare minerals. My face feels awake and lifted after using this product.

3) La Roche Posay Facial Sunblock SPF40

I use this product everyday under my makeup. I want something with a high SPF that will protect my skin from the sun (even in Ireland!). Other facial sunblocks haven't gotten on well with my oily skin and they have left me super shiny after a short amount of time. This sunblock for the face is not half as greasy as the others. Love it!

4) Honey

Yes you read it correctly, HONEY! Believe it or not, I use this as a face mask. My skin feels so refreshed after this mask and I'm sure everyone has honey in their cupboards. The only disadvantage is that it can be a little messy. First I wash my face and hands. Simply apply it t your face and leave it for 15-20 mins. But don't put too much honey to your face or you'll find that it will start melting and dripping off your face. I'd always lie down and relax for the 15 mins to make sure it doesn't go everywhere!

5) Lush Dream Cream

This is a hand and body lotion from Lush Cosmetics. I use this "soothing and cooling cream" as a body moisteriser after a shower and love how moisturising it is. During the winter months my skin can get very dry and some body moisterisers don't make any difference to my skin. This one does what it says on the tin. It's so luxurious on the skin and gives me so much moisture!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I hope you stop by each week to see some other favourites in this blog challenge.

Hello everyone!

Here is my FOTD and OOTD from a recent night out.
I got this new dress from Topshop and I absolutely love the colours! My necklace and bracelet are from New Look. I curled my hair with my GHD and I pinned up each curl with a pin to prolong the curl.

I wanted to use similar colours for my makeup but with a nude lip rather than a plum lip. For this look, I went a little heavier than normal with this makeup, adding some cream contouring and flase Eyelashes, so this is what I came up with...
